Kirin BioMaterials is an R&D venture company within the Kirin Group, established in December 2020 as a spin-off from the research team at Kyowa Hakko Bio Co. Ltd. Although we are still new, we have great ambitions to solve global social problems by making full use of our unique biotechnology.

The compound we are currently seeking to commercialize is an essential drug treated in hospitals around the world in modern medical care. However, due to its complicated structures, it is very difficult to synthesize artificially, and there have been supply chain concerns for many years.
We have established the world's first technology for the artificial mass production of the compound, utilizing cutting-edge fermentation technology.
At Kirin BioMaterials, we are working on R&D and to establish a manufacturing system to deliver the pharmaceuticals to patients more widely and more sustainably through a pharmaceutical company partner.

Our source of production is glucose made from corn and potatoes. Many microorganisms work with it, and we humans handle and control the activities of the microorganisms and the chemical reactions in our facilities and equipment, incorporating the latest technologies to repeatedly manufacture the complex compound. In the near future, our product will be delivered to patients around the world as an essential pharmaceutical, through the hands of various people working in pharmaceutical companies and medical care.
We hope to play a future role in the world's systems that will connect people to people, people to society, and people to nature, through the fermentation technology that we develop every day.

We will continue to develop products that will be needed for a long time to come, one by one, using the biotechnology in which we excel, for the health and well-being of people around the world.
